Dan from Rigger Brew picked Carared, a caramel malt aimed squarely at red and amber beers. The aroma evolves over the course of the glass — quiet at first, then blooming into what the review pins down as sweet rolls and honey biscuit, a warm bakery character that suits the style perfectly.

Neither reviewer had ever brewed with Carared before, and this beer makes the case for changing that. A well-executed entry that had the tasting reaching for the descriptive vocabulary usually reserved for a bakery counter.
