Honey Malt — 2025 Malt Experiment #7

Sean from Brookside Brewing chose Western New York honey malt, and delivered the session beer of the experiment: a 3.7% ABV amber (from a 1.040 original gravity) that the review immediately certifies as a lawnmower beer — the kind you come back to after a full afternoon of yard work.

The honey character is gentler than the malt's reputation suggests, folding into a refreshing, well-balanced whole rather than dominating it. Light, easy, and well-executed at a strength most of the experiment's entries didn't attempt.
